Privy Pilot Global Privacy Statement

Last Updated: August 7, 2026

At PrivyPilot, our foundational philosophy is simple: Your sensitive legal documents are your business, and they should never leave your hardware.

Because we built our artificial intelligence to run entirely on-device, we do not need—and do not want—your personal data, your contracts, or your client information. This Privacy Policy explains the minimal data we do interact with, largely limited to what Apple and our payment processor require to run the App Store.

1. The "On-Device" Promise: Data We DO NOT Collect

PrivyPilot is designed to function without transmitting your documents to the cloud.

a) No Cloud AI: All contract reading, Risk/Vitals extraction, embeddings, and chat generation occur locally on your Apple device's silicon. We do not send your documents or chat queries to external servers (unlike OpenAI, Anthropic, or even our own servers - we do not have any).

b) No Cloud Storage: We do not host a database of your documents. Your contracts, generated drafts, and chat histories are saved locally on your device using SwiftData.

c) Disabled iCloud Backups: To ensure absolute strict confidentiality, we have explicitly coded the app to exclude your "Matter Data" and contracts from iCloud device backups. This ensures your sensitive files are not silently copied to Apple's servers. (Note: This means if you lose your device, your app data is lost with it).

2. Information Collected by Third-Party Services

a) While we do not collect your personal data, the infrastructure required to distribute the app and process purchases does collect standard, anonymized data:

Apple App Store: If you have opted-in to share analytics with developers through your iOS settings, Apple provides us with anonymized crash logs, app usage metrics, and download statistics. We cannot link this data to your identity.

b) RevenueCat (Payments): To manage our "Lifetime" Foundation memberships, premium trials and subscriptions, we use RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes an anonymous App User ID and receipt tokens to verify your purchase status. We do not have access to your credit card information, billing address, or Apple ID.

3. Optional Communication and Feedback

a) We believe in building this tool alongside our early adopters, users to continuously improve and build features that delight you.

b) Direct Outreach: We may occasionally prompt you within the app to ask for your optional feedback on how PrivyPilot is performing.

c) Emailing Us: If you choose to contact us directly with feedback via our app or email, feature requests, or support questions, we will securely store your email address and the contents of your message solely for the purpose of replying to you and improving the app. We will never sell your email or add you to an unrelated marketing list.

4. Local Data Retention and Deletion

a) Because your data lives on your device, you are in complete control of its retention.

b) Contract Files: The app is designed to automatically delete the underlying PDF files from your device after our standard retention window to save your storage space, though the extracted text and analysis history will remain in your local Library.

c) Manual Deletion: You can manually delete any contract, chat issue, or matter from your local Library at any time. Deleting the app from your device will immediately and permanently erase all PrivyPilot data.

5. Your Privacy Rights (NZ Privacy Act, GDPR, CCPA)

Depending on where you live or your citizenship, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Because PrivyPilot does not store your personal information or documents on our servers, the easiest way to exercise your right to deletion is simply to delete the app from your device. For questions about the anonymised purchase data handled by RevenueCat or Apple, please refer to their respective privacy policies.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our core architecture (for example, if we introduce an optional cloud-based feature in the future), we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you within the app. We will never silently change the app to start uploading your documents.
